It’s that time of the day. Like many of you, I’m already anxiously refreshing CBC’s latest election updates.
This election couldn’t be more critical. At a time of economic uncertainty, global instability, and a worsening climate crisis, the government we elect tonight will steer us through some of the toughest years ahead. It’s chilling to think that as Canadians cast their ballots, firefighters are already battling wildfires.1
But no matter the outcome tonight, one thing won’t change: my deep gratitude—and pride—for standing in this fight alongside you and the 350 Canada community.
I cannot thank you enough for everything you have achieved in this election. I’m lost for words so I’ll let the numbers speak for themselves.
- 3 million views: By partnering with content creators, developing diverse social media content, and motivating our audience to share our message, we reached millions of young voters outside our usual networks, countering Pierre Poilievre’s aggressive courtship of Gen Z and Millennials.
- 850,000 people reached with ads: Through transit, radio, and newspaper ads in key ridings, we boosted champion candidates ready to defeat some of the Conservatives’ most dangerous contenders. We also reached hundreds of thousands nationwide through social media ads carrying the our message.
- $55,000 raised: Thanks to donations from everyday people like you, we surpassed our election fundraising goal, fueling every part of this campaign.
- 250 swag kits mailed: From St John’s, Newfoundland to Surrey, BC–and from downtown Mississauga to a three hundred person village in the Yukon–we blanketed the country in posters and stickers exposing Poilievre’s real agenda, thanks to our dedicated community of volunteers!
- 25 signs exposing Poilievre in his own riding: This was so effective that his team scrambled to block our signs with their own, sparking outrage from Carleton residents and dozens of complaints to Elections Canada.
- 20 champion candidates supported: We directly contacted thousands of voters in 20 ridings where progressive champions are in extremely tight races this election, to rally support for these proven leaders who will fight for real justice and climate action in the next Parliament.
- 3 major party platforms now include a People’s Power Grid: This is a huge step forward, all thanks to thousands of people, like you, speaking up together to push this transformative nation-building idea into the political mainstream.
These numbers only begin to capture the strength of our collective movement.
Reading them, I’m confident that as a community, we rose to the moment: challenging Poilievre’s deceitful agenda, throwing down behind promising champions who will fight for the future we need, and pushing all parties to deliver better, stronger climate action.
Onwards,
Atiya
